Background Information
The Indo-Swiss Joint Research programme is implemented through an inter-governmental S&T Agreement signed on November 10, 2003, during the State visit of the Swiss President to India. Subsequently an Executive Programme of Cooperation (POC) for the period 2006-09 was concluded during the visit of Hon’ble Minister for S&T and ES to Switzerland during Nov 2006.
The areas chosen by the two sides for cooperation are:-

- Human health sciences
- Sustainable urban development
- Renewable energy sources
Modes of Cooperation:-

- Joint Research projects (Basic & Applied Research

- Joint Research Centres (institutional partnerships)
- Joint Utilisation of Advanced Facilities
- Research Fellowships
- Project based Personnel exchange Programme (PPP)
